Susu Segar Import Disekat Dari Memasuki Sarawak Sehingga Diberitahu Kelak
Laporan tersebut juga menyatakan notis bersubjek ‘Suspension on the importation of fresh milk” bertarikh 4 Februari lepas diedarkan kepada semua pengimport liquid milk.
Dipertik dari Borneo Post Online :
“This suspension is necessary to regulate the importation of fresh milk to ascertain the origin of the milk as well as the disease status of exporting countries.
“Milk sourced from Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD)-free countries and reprocessed in a state or a country with FMD is not allowed to be imported into Sarawak,” said the notice.
It further pointed out that Sarawak has been free from FMD since 2004, and that every effort needs to be made to maintain this status.
The department also advised those with further enquiries to write to the director with necessary supporting documents.
The notice was made available to The Borneo Post by a source who disclosed that countries with FMD are mostly from the Asian continent, such as Thailand and Vietnam.
“Milk from New Zealand and Australia are okay,” said the source, adding that even milk from Peninsular Malaysia had been banned.
